This is the view from our balcony in a little town called Murren, in the Berner Oberland region of the Swiss Alps. We were having a beer and enjoying the beautiful sunset against the mountains. Murren is perched on the edge of a ridge and the mountain tops seem close enough to touch. This was our base for three days from which we hiked and explored the area. All around the area you hear a constant symphony of cowbells as they graze. To get to Murren, we took the train from Zurich to Interlaken, via Lucerne. From Interlaken we took another train to Lauterbrunnen, which is down in the valley below Murren. Then you have to take a cable car up the mountain and another tiny train over to Murren. All very scenic and cool. More pictures from Murren.
