Right now, Babies R Us will take all of your old baby bottles and switch them out for new BPA free ones. It only works for Dr. Browns and Avent because they are the only brands that make a newer BPA free version of the old bottles. The bottles have to contain all the parts and they have to be free of any labels or names. They gave me a cleaner and made me clean off where I had written Mary Slayden's name on a few a long time ago. I was able to switch out 8 bottles today and I have more but I'm missing the tops. I really don't need more than 8 bottles anyway. If you don't already know, BPA is a chemical found in plastics and cans that can leak into food and liquids and is thought to be particularly harmful to fetuses and newborn babies. It leaks at the highest rate when heated, so I've tried to really be diligent about not reheating food in the microwave in plastic containers.
Next we need to switch out our Nalgene bottles to these Sigg water bottles. That'll cost us though.
